History of the Rotary Careers Handbook project

Rotary Past President, Ian van Niekerk in 1992, originally conceived the Rotary Careers Handbook. Successive Rotarians and Committees then worked upon the book, until it was originally published in June 1993.

Ian and his fellow Rotarians felt that assistance to the youth and unemployed was a major priority at that stage of Zimbabwe's economic and potential decline. The objectives of the book are to help students to develop by studying efficiently, researching and choosing career paths, and then in obtaining employment, or setting up their own businesses.

The Rotary Careers and Self Development Handbook (2008 edition)

The above handbook is by the Rotary Club of Harare. This will be available for email reproduction and sale to students. We are beginning with a selected sample of schools.

The price per reproduced copy, payable to the Rotary Club of Highlands, Harare, will be $1. Schools may add on their own charges for paper, printing and profit.

It is hoped that each school will place copies in its library for availability to students who might not be able to purchase their own copies.

Please contact us in having a complementary copy sent to you by email.
